NAN ABEIt’s been a long time coming and the time is night!

New Alliance North is Officially available for rental as an authentic creative space for making electronic music.  What makes New Alliance North special is a focus on real time music creation.  It’s a place to bring your laptop and record in a way that is free from the DAW that lurks within the screen.

All machines in the studio are synced via a master tempo clock in the analog domain with a Roland XBS 80.

This box allows all devices to be in sync and play in real time together.  Even better is that you can stop and play and device independently of the others!  Want the TR808 to be one half measure late to create a new rhythm?  Hit play whenever you want!

Another great performance device is Garfield Electronics Mini-doc.  There’s a few of these wired up for mapping arpeggiator clock to any synth that can see it!

Drum Machines: For drum programming we offer all variants of technology and heritage.

This is a follow up to the previous slinky Korg MS-10 track that i posted here.

I’m loving the Korg MS-10 for mono-synthetic mayhem.  All non drums and non pads on this track are from the Korg MS-10 and an MS-20.

This one comes with the perfect GIF too!

Main drums are the Roland TR 909, Simmons SDS V, and Linndrum ( the low crunchy snare later ).

The Pads are Oberheim OB-8, I love the ‘THX’ sound you can get out of the mod matrix on this beast!

I had a few days off from the studio and made some music.  This is my fave from that batch.  It’s buoyant and uplifted, how i’m feeling these days!  Featuring arpeggios from the white Europa Roland Jupiter 6  and Roland Jupiter 8, Pads and single note layers via Oberheim DPX-1 and Oberheim OB-8, and Drums by Oberheim DSX, Simmons SDS-V, and Linn LM2 on percussion.  So, the usual cast of characters!

I have been diggin’ the Europa JP-6.  The europa arpeggiator is awesome and adds a lot to the performance aspects of this bad boy in white…

In this track the DSX sequencer is just looping the chords so i could get the arpeggiators working together.  i also experimented with arpeggiating in unison mode. this is cool as it makes a monophonic melodic figure pop out of the arpeggiated chords…

…heavy mellow…
